Jack is a magna cum laude graduate of Kent State University, where he earned a bachelor of music/percussion degree in 1983. He trained with Donald Miller (Percussionist for the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra), Lynn Harbold (Principle Percussionist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra), and Tommy Dorsey Drummer Louis Marino.
